Household waste should be bagged before being placed in approved carts provided by Deffenbaugh. It should be placed at the curb or in front of your house by 6 a.m. and should be unobstructed in order for crews to safely and effectively remove the waste.
The trash should be placed in clear, plastic trash bags that weigh no more than 30 lbs and placed inside the cart provided. Containers can be no larger than 32 gallons and no heavier than 45 lbs. The solid waste limit includes up to five items: any overage must be disposed of by the resident at their own cost. Pick up outside of city limits is limited to six solid waste items.
Bulky item pick up is currently unavailable. For additional options, call 402-444-5238.
Unlimited recycling service is available for Omaha residents. Separate yard waste collection is available from the first Monday of April through the week following Thanksgiving. Due to the current drivers’ shortage, residents may experience a delay in yard waste collection. We appreciate everyone’s patience during this period. If packaged properly, there is no limit to the amount of waste. Please visit Wasteline.org for more information on how to package your yard waste.
Trash collection fees are covered through your property taxes. Place your trash at the curb on your scheduled pick up day.
